Reference Services to Students: A Crucible for Ethical Inquiry

Abstract

Exploratory data about reference services to library school students were gathered via a questionnaire sent to refer ence and library science librarians, library school faculty, and library school students. Librarians indicated a consen sus against ''doing library students' homework for them and a belief that library school students are treated the same as all other patrons. Students reported requesting reference help only as a last resort.
