As coaching continues to mature as an approach to leadership development, coaching evaluations must also mature-with researchers and practitioners conducting more rigorous evaluations. Ely et al. offered an integrated conceptual framework for evaluating coaching interventions. This chapter provides examination of three elements in Ely et al.’s framework: (a) identifying the full range of evaluation stakeholders, (b) identifying relevant evaluation criteria, and (c) identifying appropriate data collection methodologies. These factors are functionally related to one another-the identification of relevant stakeholders determines what kinds of criteria need to be gathered, and both contribute to specifying how and from whom data is to be acquired and aggregated. The goals of the chapter are to define and describe several key issues regarding these three elements of Ely et al.’s integrated framework for evaluating coaching.
