Giving Multisource Feedback a Facelift

Abstract

This paper calls for the development of a new form of Multi-Source Feedback (MSF) mechanism. This MSF platform attempts to address the more implicit relational schemata that guide judgments raters hold of ratees. In general, individuals construct mental representations to reflect elements they encounter in the world. These mental representations can include mental images of people – ‘flash images’ – that evoke an emotional response and influence the way in which actions and behaviors are interpreted. A proposal for an alternative type of multi-source feedback instrument to capture these flash images is discussed.
