The purpose of this work is to reflect on the evolution of logistical architectures in the distribution channels and the potential role of logistics service providers (PSL), who are undisputed actors in logistics outsourcing, in the dissemination of collaborative logistics practices between competing firms. To carry out this reflection, we rely on recent logistics pooling practices between manufacturers competing suppliers of the large retailers. We highlight that the PSL is able to play the role of facilitator, coordinator and architect in training and development of these coopetitive networks.
