Several factors that could affect learning in the workplace have been debated in scholarly circles in recent times. This chapter highlights the factors that influence workplace learning and discusses the key factors that will influence the employee's learning at work by drawing from accounts of senior managers and personnel who were involved in the teaching of research. The chapter focuses on the following key factors: the site of work and the changing role of work, the stronger position of informal learning in the workplace, individuals' control over learning, learning through active engagement, reflective thinking and experience as stimulants for learning, and workplace learning needing organizational support. The study emphasizes the need for further study to determine the effect of strong CoP subcultures on organizational culture and practice.
