This chapter provides guidance to those who use the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fifth Edition (WISC-V) in the identification of specific learning disability (SLD). The Dual Discrepancy/Consistency (DD/C) model provides a framework for organizing data from the WISC-V, and other batteries included in the assessment, to evaluate whether an individual's pattern of strengths and weaknesses is consistent with the SLD construct. The chapter shows that the PSW-A Data Summary tab includes a space next to the Alternative Cognitive Composite or ACC. Cross-Battery Assessment Software System provides an efficient means of conducting the PSW component of the DD/C model. When the criteria at each level of the DD/C model are met, including the exclusionary factors component, it may be concluded that the data are sufficient to support a diagnosis of SLD.
