Iconological Interpretation of the Deconstructive Upcycling Fashion of Maison Margiela

Abstract

With the current rapid development of society and the improvement in living standards, excessive waste of clothing and environmental issues have been attracting widespread attention. This study, thus, aims to analyze the significance and value of upcycling and reconstructing fashion from a deconstructionist perspective. We first conducted preceding studies on the concepts and characteristics of upcycling fashion, disintegrationist fashion, and Maison Margiela.
