This study examined the outcomes of a 4-week intergenerational life review intervention (the Life Story Project) pairing older adults with graduate counseling psychology students. Qualitatively, post-intervention interviews were conducted with older participants (n = 10) and reflection essays were collected from students (n = 10). Thematic analysis of elder interviews highlighted the intervention’s meaningfulness, emotional catharsis, and desires for more mutual interaction, whereas student reflections emphasized enhanced empathy, therapy skills, confronting ageism, and personal growth. The Life Story Project suggests life review work can improve older adults’ sense of meaning in life while serving as an effective pedagogical tool for training counselors. Intergenerational narrative interventions hold promise for enriching both generations and the findings support incorporating structured life review into elder care and counselor education
