This exploratory study surveyed 179 child welfare caseworkers to examine their perceptions of the influence of juvenile court judges and attorneys on child welfare practice. This study also explored the perceived benefit of this influence and whether caseworker characteristics are associated with perceived influence and perceived benefit. The degree that court personnel influence the way child welfare workers practice as well as the perceived benefit of this influence varies by personnel and the amount of juvenile court training the worker receives. The study findings and implications for child welfare practice are discussed.
