Breach of psychological contract, perception of politics and organizational cynicism: Evidence from Pakistan

Abstract

Research on organizational cynicism is gaining increased attention, still limited literature addresses theissue among public sector organizations in developing countries. By specifically focusing on publicsector personnel in Pakistan, the present study attempts to analyze the impact of breach of psychologicalcontract and perception of politics on organizational cynicism. Data was collected from 149 employeesemployed in public sector institutions of Pakistan. Findings shows that breach of psychological contractdetermines organizational cynicism, while public sector employees in Pakistan do not considerperception of politics to be associated with organizational cynicism.
