Gen Z-the latest generational cohort to enter organizations has tremendous potential to contribute to organizational success. This study provides a perspective on the workplace determinants that influence employee learning in Gen Z. An extant review of the literature was undertaken to identify and summarize the workplace determinants i.e., technological, managerial, and learning and development (L&D), to build researchable propositions culminating in a conceptual model. Findings reiterate to the importance of artificial intelligence (AI), interactive games, empathetic leadership, micro and social learning. This perspective is based on distraction conflict theory (DCT) and self-determination theory (SDT). The paper aims to provide implications to build new learning paradigms for Gen Z. As research on Gen Z remained limited to anecdotal evidence and normative studies, the paper is of value as it addresses a compelling issue, i.e. employee learning in this cohort. The conceptual framework developed can be utilized across work contexts to generate insightful vistas of findings.
